Counter Height Dinning Room Table???

Okay so Steve and I found this AWESOME counter height dinning room table a couple months ago at Weekends Only but we decided against it at this time....

Well we started looking again because our table is kind of falling apart and not that we don't love it because we do and it has been a great table for us for the 2 years we have had it we are looking for a new one.

So we went to Ashley's Furniture today and we found the exact same table we were looking at and in love with 2 months ago....but it is a counter height table. Is this a sign that it is meant to be?

All of our furniture is a cherry wood color so we want to obviously stick with that color otherwise it would look stupid. Which that is the color of the table and the chairs have leather cushions....SO comfortable.

Anyway....it has a leaf underneath that you can just pop up which is nice so you don't have to store it and with the leaf popped up you can fit 8 people which is great....

But what we don't want is to shrink our room and I know with it being dark and higher that it will obviously make the room a little smaller but now we are just trying to think if it will still be okay....

Thoughts?!!??!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?

FYI....a normal table is about 30 inches high and the counter height tables are 36 inches high.
